Ceropegia, woodii ‘String of Hearts’

Ceropegia Woodii  is commonly referred to as "String of Hearts" and is a very unusual, hardy vining succulent that produces variegated, heart-shaped leaves with silver markings on tough, wire-like stems. Oddly enough, this plant is a member of the Milkweed family (Asclepiadaceae) and in addition to its attractive leaves, it also produces small, bead-like tubers or bulbs at intervals along the vine giving it the appearance of a rosary.

PLANT CARE
  • Light Requirements: Perfect for bright room but out of direct sunlight.
  • Water: Allow the soil to dry out  (it's thick leaves store water).
  •  Soil: America’s Gardens houseplant soil.
  •  Temperature: 65-80 degrees.
  •  Flowering: Small tubular flowers with a bulbous base.
  •  Re-Potting: Typically you want to choose a potting vessel 1”- 2” larger in diameter to allow for growth.
  •  Disease & Pest: Will tolerate mild infestations without excessive damage; not prone to disease except root rot if over watered.
  •  Toxicity: Non-toxic to pets. Keep in mind that those long, stringy stems are probably irresistible to cats!
