Hermodactylus tuberosus, also known as Iris tuberosa or 'Snake's Head Iris', is an absolute must-have for any iris connoisseur. Subtle in color but huge in terms of flower form right down to the smallest detail. Snake's Head Iris is a unique, winter hardy perennial that really charms with its exotic, vibrant green blooms accented by dark purple, nearly black falls. The mid to late spring flowers have a subtle fragrance that intensifies in the warmer temperatures. A wonderful naturalizer that adds brilliance to rock gardens and woodland sites.
