A beautiful Dahlia variety, Bishop's Children is a vibrant-toned mix of solid and bi-color blooms in shades of red, orange, yellow, pink, and purple. Dahlia is a great cut-flower or flower border plant. The single and semidouble, peony-formed flowers include plenty of bicolors and two-toned blends, some gaily striped, others shading from one hue to the next like a tropical sunset, and still others a rich, deep solid color. But what makes this dahlia really extraordinary is its black foliage.
Although we classify this plant as an annual, The Bishop's Children dahlia is a tender perennial that may or may not come back in our zone (7). They are tuber plants so if you want to ensure multi year growth, it may be best to take the tubers up in the fall. Best grown in full sun, moderate water and rich draining soil.
This bushy Dahlia plant reaches 36" tall and about a foot wide, with leaves so dark they appear black.
Another beautiful flower that ranks among the plants toxic to dogs and cats are dahlias. Although not as high in toxicity as some of the other plants mentioned, this flower will cause your pet to experience mild gastrointestinal signs and mild dermatitis. Trees and shrubs have a 1 year warranty (exceptions may apply), but we highly encourage you to give us a call or email if you notice issues with your plant. We'd love to help you figure out what's wrong and save your plant!
Orders are shipped on Wednesdays and Thursdays; if your order is placed on a Wednesday, it may not ship until the following Wednesday. During peak season there may be delays in shipping. If it is too hot or cold, we suggest ordering during milder months to ensure plants arrive in best condition.
