Rhaphidophora tetrasperma in a a totally separate genus than a Monstera or Philodendron that is native to Southern Thailand. Surprisingly, the Rhapidophora genus isn't closely related to the other two genera that it's often mistaken. Rhaphidophora is an incredibly fast climbing aroid with long aerial roots.
Rhaphidophora tetrasperma requires bright, filtered light. Indoors, direct sun is fine as long as it's indirect. Not fussy on watering but likes regular watering (do not over water) when the soil is dry about an 1" deep. The key to growing aroids is to use a mix that is going to have plenty of aeration and stay moist, but never soggy.
Given the right growing conditions and space the leaves can grow up to forty inches long and twenty inches wide. Being a fast grower she can quickly climb a trellis and become a beautiful tropical accent plant for any room.
The plant contains calcium oxalate crystals that can cause severe pain and discomfort to pets. These microscopic crystals are a defense mechanism for the plant, deterring herbivores from eating it.
