Diatomaceous earth is interesting in that it kills insects by dehydrating them and then damaging their exoskeletons. The diatomaceous earth absorbs the insects oils and fats and then the insect dries out and dies. Its sharp edges are abrasive, speeding up the process. It remains effective as long as it is kept dry and undisturbed - Given that, Diatomaceous earth is less effective in moist or wet environments. It is a non-poisonous powder or liquid (in this case, powder) made from the remains of diatoms, tiny organisms that lived in bodies of water. Over a long period of time, diatoms accumulated in the sediment of rivers, streams, lakes, and oceans.
Bonide Diatomaceous Earth is used for insect control. It can be used both indoors and outdoors. Works within 48-hours by contact and ingestion. A natural option for killing crawling insects.

For in store purchases: If you are not satisfied with your purchase, please call us at 423-870-5000 or return the plant in its original pot/condition within 3 days. Trees and shrubs have a 1 year warranty (exceptions may apply), but we highly encourage you to give us a call or email if you notice issues with your plant. We'd love to help you figure out what's wrong and save your plant!
Orders are shipped on Wednesdays and Thursdays; if your order is placed on a Wednesday, it may not ship until the following Wednesday. During peak season there may be delays in shipping. If it is too hot or cold, we suggest ordering during milder months to ensure plants arrive in best condition.
