block.Moringa Oleifera is native to Africa and Asia. Also known as The Moringa Tree, the Drumstick Tree or The Miracle Tree. Every part of the Moringa tree is said to be of use - its seeds can be used to purify water; its bark, roots and flowers all have incredible medicinal properties and its leaves are one of the most nutrient-dense foods on the planet. Highly valued for their edible parts that are extremely high in nutrients and minerals, as well as their beautiful ornamental features. The leaves, pods, roots and seeds are edible. This tree to be known as the 'Horseradish Tree,' because they have a similar flavor. These parts of the Moringa Tree are often used in recipes all over the world because of their nutritious value.
Moringa trees grow extremely fast: in fact once planted, they reach full maturity in just 9 months. Moringa leaves can be harvested just 6-8 weeks after planting and then once they are harvested, they immediately regrow so 6-8 weeks later they can be harvested again.
They are drought-resistant, have exceptionally deep roots and can grow in a wide variety of soils, meaning they thrive in even the most harsh conditions. When potting a Moringa Tree, find a location that offers full sun. This tree can adapt to a wide range of soil types as long as it drains well, but prefers sandy loam soil. In our zone (7), Moringa trees are considered houseplants since they are hardy in zones 4-11.
While no part of the moringa plant is inherently toxic to dogs, excessive consumption could lead to health issues due to its rich nutrient content. The pods, in particular, are safe but could pose a choking hazard.
