block.Weeping White Spruce Picea glauca 'Pendula' is native to the mountains of the northern United States and is a captivating coniferous tree with a distinctive weeping growth habit. It is an ornamental variety of the White Spruce species and is highly sought after for its elegant and graceful appearance. The foliage consists of soft, needle-like leaves that exhibit a beautiful bluish-green hue, adding a touch of color and texture to any garden.
Given the size of this tree, it cannot be shipped - in store pick-up only.
It grows best in sun to light shade in moist, well drained soil. Best if grown in zones 2-8.
A relative fast growing evergreen, it should be trained when young to develop a central leader; otherwise, it may become more of a sprawling shrub than a tree. Its long weeping branches can be allowed to spill along the ground to form a creeping ground cover. This evergreen tree is typically slow-growing and compact, reaching a height of around 20-30 feet and 6 feet round.
Deer & rabbit resistant. White Spruce, or Picea glauca, is generally not on the toxic list for dogs. Vets often see a variety of plant ingestion cases, but White Spruce typically doesn't cause alarm. No major toxic compounds have been identified in this species that would pose a risk to canine health.
