‘Red Mountain’ is a stunning variety that sports long lasting purple-rose flowers. This is an evergreen, bushy, clump-forming perennial which typically grows 14″ tall with a similar spread. Nodding, cup-shaped, deep rose-purple flowers (to 2″ diameter) with overlapping petals and center crowns of conspicuously contrasting yellow stamens appear in clusters (cymes) at the tips of leafy stems from February through April.

Care

Zones 4 - 9. Full shade - partial shade. Morning or evening sun preferred. Hot afternoon sun will scorch this plant. Soil should be moist but well drained, never soggy. Blooms early - mid-spring. 

Growth Habit

1’ - 2’ tall and wide. Bloom period can be longer in mild winters. Glossy, deeply-cut, dark green, evergreen leaves are deeply lobed and divided into 7-10, narrow, lance-shaped to elliptic, usually-toothed segments.

Toxic. Sap is a skin irritant. Do not ingest. Keep away from children and pets.

Trees and shrubs have a 1 year warranty (exceptions may apply), but we highly encourage you to give us a call or email if you notice issues with your plant. We'd love to help you figure out what's wrong and save your plant! 

Orders are shipped on Wednesdays and Thursdays; if your order is placed on a Wednesday, it may not ship until the following Wednesday. During peak season there may be delays in shipping. If it is too hot or cold, we suggest ordering during milder months to ensure plants arrive in best condition.
