Autumn Fire Sedum (Sedum spectabile 'Autumn Fire') is a perennial plant known for its eye-catching display of colorful flowers and attractive foliage. This cultivar belongs to the Sedum genus, commonly referred to as stonecrops or sedums. 'Autumn Fire' is a favorite among gardeners for its ability to add vibrant color and texture to late-season gardens when many other plants start to fade.

Autumn Fire Sedum thrives in full sun, making it an ideal choice for sunny garden spots. It prefers well-draining soil and is highly drought-tolerant once established. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so it's essential to avoid waterlogged conditions. This sedum variety is relatively low-maintenance and does not require heavy fertilization. Deadheading spent flowers can prolong its blooming period and enhance its appearance. Pruning the plant in early spring can encourage vigorous growth and better flower production.

Zones 3 to 9. The plant typically reaches a height of about 18 to 24 inches (45 to 60 cm) and has a similar spread. Its fleshy, succulent-like leaves form a dense, upright clump. As the name suggests, 'Autumn Fire' sedum produces stunning flowers in late summer to fall. The flowers are star-shaped, with shades ranging from light pink to deep rose-red, creating a fiery and captivating display that attracts butterflies and other pollinators.

Autumn Fire Sedum is not known to be toxic to humans or pets.
