Tama-No-Hada Azalea Bonsai

Tama-No-Hada Azalea Bonsai

$19.99

A compact evergreen with dramatic, late‑season flair, Tama‑no‑Hada Azalea (Rhododendron ‘Tama‑no‑Hada’) is prized for its large, showy blooms and tidy habit. This rare Satsuki hybrid maintains a graceful mound of lush green foliage about 2-2½ feet tall and 3-4 feet wide, making it perfect for containers or small garden spaces. In late spring to early summer-and sometimes again in fall-it produces incredible 4-5″ blossoms that unfurl in creamy white generously splashed, streaked, or striped with coral, pink, or red tones .

Ideal for woodland, Asian‑theme, or cottage gardens, Tama‑no‑Hada shines as a specimen plant, pathway border, or in mass plantings to extend seasonal bloom interest. It thrives in part shade and needs moist, well‑drained soil; bonsai practitioners also prize it for its adaptability to containers and bonsai culture .

Care

Plant in part shade with rich, well‑drained soil. Keep roots evenly moist and protect from soggy conditions. A layer of mulch helps retain moisture and regulate soil temperature. Minimal pruning is required, just trim for shape or to remove dead wood after flowering. With proper care, it adds late-season color and visual texture to the garden .

Growth Habit

Tama‑no‑Hada forms a neat, rounded mound reaching roughly 24-30″ tall and 36-48″ wide.  Its dense foliage supports spectacular flowers without needing staking, and the evergreen leaves provide year‑round structural appeal.

Toxicity

This evergreen azalea is not known to be toxic, but all azaleas can cause mild stomach upset if ingested. While its compact size minimizes risks, it's best kept out of reach of curious pets and children.
