Roseum Elegans Rhododendron

$64.99

Roseum Elegans is am evergreen shrubs with lavender blooms accented by its dark green foliage which transforms into rusty brown for the winter months. Roseum shrubs are hardy plants that handle crazy amounts of any environment. This fragrant variety is known for being heat-resistant and drought-tolerant. The foliage comes in a lovely dark green color. Every leaf matches the flowers extremely well. Once the beautiful blooms are done, the foliage blends well with the rest of the shrub.

Growth Habit

With its clusters of stunning cardinal lavender flowers contrasted against the glossy, thick leaves Roseum is sure to draw attention in the landscape. Begins to bloom in April or May on a 4-6' tall and 3-4' wide plant. A low maintenance, heat tolerant evergreen the sheer size of this rhododendron make it an excellent choice for use as a living privacy wall, foundation planting, hedge or specimen planting.

Care

Grows best in zones 4-8. Avoid harsh afternoon sun exposures and shelter from drying winter winds. Feed with an acid fertilizer after bloom. Happiest growing in partial or dappled sunlight this rhododendron would do well in moist but well-drained soil that is slightly acidic.

Toxicity

While we can’t deny their beauty, rhododendrons are considered highly toxic to dogs. In fact, all it takes is a few curious nibbles of any part of the plant—leaves, stems, petals, or pollen—to land your pet in the emergency vet clinic. Deer resistant.
