block.Taiga is a stunning addition to southern gardens, and is sure to make many jaws drop all summer long. The gorgeous purple blooms with yellow-green tips grow in masses in the summer. It is one that blends well with other plants while still being a stand-out.
Clematis grow best in locations that receive plenty of sunlight, at minimum they should receive at least 5 to 6 hours of direct sunlight each day. The roots should be kept shaded to keep the roots system cool and moist. They are moderate feeders. Adding aged cow manure or compost to the soil every spring will provide clematis with the nutrients they need to grow healthy and strong. Fertilize between April and July, making the applications when the soil is moist. Prune in late winter or early spring before new growth emerges. Pruning type 3 - blooms late summer to fall. Best grown as a perennial in zones 6-9.
Repeat flowering throughout the summer. This double clematis far outperforms any other double clematis currently available! Because it can rapidly reach 3-7 feet high and 3-4 feet wide, it is often chosen for areas where screening or privacy are needed.
All parts of the plant, including leaves, stems, and flowers, are potentially harmful if ingested by dogs and cats. It is resistant to deer and rabbit.
