Alice Oakleaf Hydrangea

$46.99

Oakleaf Hydrangea 'Alice' is an erect rounded decidous shrub with showy white flowers that appear in early to mid-summer.  She is a large hydrangea shrub that produces enormous white blooms in the shape of a cones. The cone-shaped blooms are made up of many tiny white blooms, but from a distance, it appears to be one huge flower. As the flowers age they fade to pink. Plant it as a specimen plant near a patio or entry way.  It works well in small groups, in shrub borders, as an informal hedge, or in a woodland or winter themed garden.

Growing Habit:

This shrub will reach a height of 5 to 8 feet tall and wide at maturity.   Filtered Sun. Deciduous. Best grown in zones 5-9.

Care:

Plant 'Alice' in the full sun to partial shade in moist well-drained soil. This hydrangea quercifolia shrub needs plenty of water to thrive so keep the soil moist and add a 2-inch layer of mulch to help the soil stay cool.  Alice should be pruned immediately after flowering as flower buds are produced on second year wood.

Toxicity:

Hydrangeas contain substances that can be toxic to dogs. Sadly to say, hydrangeas are not normally deer resistant.
