Aucuba Hosoba Hoshifu

Hosoba Hoshifu Aucuba is shade loving evergreen plant that displays wonderful foliage color all year long. Although they can tolerate some sun, their foliage color shows best when in a mostly shady area. Hosoba Hoshifu has narrow gold splashed leaves and a nice compact growing habit. This special Aucuba will produce red fruit if paired with a male pollinator. Moderately salt tolerant in well drained soils. This moderate grower reaches 5-8 feet tall and 4-5 feet wide at maturity. Hardiness zones are 7-9 but try to keep this shrub out of the areas that are known to be windy. Remember, full to partial shade works best with this shrub as well as slightly acidic, well drained soil.
