Blossom end rot is a physiological disorder of tomato. Symptoms are water-soaked spots on the blossom end of the fruit. These spots enlarge and become black. The cause of this disorder is a calcium deficiency in the developing fruit. Extreme fluctuations in moisture, rainy or cloudy weather with high humidity, cool temperatures, insufficient soil calcium, root pruning from nearby cultivation, and excessive nitrogen, potassium, or magnesium fertilization can also increase the chances of blossom end rot, especially early in the season.

Bonide Rot-Stop® Tomato Blossom Set Spray contains calcium which helps to prevents end rot in tomatoes (as well as cucumbers, melons & peppers) and other vegetables. It controls calcium deficiency to prevent end rot. Apply after heavy periods of rain or rapid growth. Apply in early morning or evening when temperatures are lower to avoid foliage burn. Make applications 5-7 days apart when conditions are favorable for appearance of the disorder.
