Red Dogwood Tree

$54.99
Red dogwood trees, also known as Cornus florida rubra, are a popular ornamental tree known for their stunning, showy flowers and attractive bark. At maturity, a red dogwood tree typically grows to a height of 20 to 30 feet (6.1 to 9.1 meters) and a width of 15 to 25 feet (4.6 to 7.6 meters). The tree has a rounded, spreading growth habit with a canopy of oval-shaped, dark green leaves that turn reddish-purple in the fall.

In the spring, the red dogwood tree produces clusters of small, four-petaled flowers that are deep pink to red in color, adding a burst of color to the landscape. In the fall, the tree produces small, red berries that are attractive to birds and other wildlife. The bark of the red dogwood tree is also a notable feature, with a smooth, reddish-brown bark that develops distinctive ridges and furrows as the tree ages.

Red dogwood trees are relatively easy to care for and prefer moist, well-draining soil in partial shade to full sun. They are often used in landscaping as a specimen tree, in mass plantings, or as a naturalized planting. The stunning flowers and attractive bark of the red dogwood tree make it a popular choice for adding color and interest to the garden.
