Spring Grove® Dogwood (Cornus florida ‘Grovflor’) is a distinguished native tree valued for its seasonal beauty and ecological benefits. In early spring, before foliage emerges, large 5-inch white flower bracts bloom abundantly, often with multiple buds on terminal branches for a lush appearance. By mid to late summer, clusters of glossy red drupes develop, providing an important food source for birds and other wildlife. The tree’s vibrant fall foliage adds further visual interest, making it a versatile and ecologically supportive specimen for diverse landscape settings.
Spring Grove® Dogwood offers exceptional seasonal interest and ecological value. In mid to late summer, clusters of glossy red drupes provide a vital food source for birds and wildlife well into fall and winter. Its bright spring blossoms are enhanced by autumn foliage that turns an attractive reddish-purple, adding visual richness. Featuring a graceful, tiered branching habit, this dogwood grows broader than tall, reaching around 22 feet high and 32 feet wide, creating a spreading canopy well-suited for specimen planting or groups. It thrives in USDA zones 5 to 9, demonstrating excellent cold hardiness down to -26°F.
