With its soft white, fragrant blooms in the spring, you will love the Chinese Fringe Tree. Prized since it can be a large shrub or small tree with upright branches forming dome shape. Soft green leaves back magnificent clusters of fringe-like blooms. A terrific accent for the landscape.

Growth Habit

At maturity, the fringe tree gets wider (20-30') than taller (15-20'). Fringe tree are deciduous and grow as either a wide-spreading, multi-stemmed shrub or a small tree. Useful in native woodland gardens, as a specimen plant, in groups, borders, or near large buildings. The fringe tree’s most outstanding feature is the fragrant, strap-like, white flowers that are borne in 6 to 8 inch long fleecy panicles in late May to early June.

Care

Full to partial sunlight, this slow grower is easy to care for when planted in well drained, rich soil. Follow a regular watering schedule during the first growing season to establish a deep, extensive root system. Watering may be reduced once established, but avoid prolonged drought. Feed with a general purpose fertilizer before new growth begins in spring. 

Toxicity

Fringe trees are not toxic to pets and is only moderately deer resistant.

For mail orders: Plants may go through shock during shipping. Upon arrival, take the plant out and water it thoroughly. If you are not satisfied with your purchase, please notify us via email at sales@amgardens.com and include a photo(s) within 24 hours of plant arrival.

For in store purchases: If you are not satisfied with your purchase, please call us at 423-870-5000 or return the plant in its original pot/condition within 3 days. Trees and shrubs have a 1 year warranty (exceptions may apply), but we highly encourage you to give us a call or email if you notice issues with your plant. We'd love to help you figure out what's wrong and save your plant! 

Orders are shipped on Wednesdays and Thursdays; if your order is placed on a Wednesday, it may not ship until the following Wednesday. During peak season there may be delays in shipping. If it is too hot or cold, we suggest ordering during milder months to ensure plants arrive in best condition.
