We use this product as a pre-emergent at the garden center for our beds, gravel, driveways, etc. and it works. It's nice that it's not as expensive as other products that work well either.  Be sure to put this down before the weeds begin to show, however, for strong effect.

We know that flowerbed weeds can be difficult to control. We like a weed and feed product but the combined marketed products are very costly so we've broken the process into two less costly products.

Given that, we are hoping that Fertilome Gardener's Special Fertilizer 11-15-11 will be a general plant food for flowers, shrubs, bulbs, and evergreens. That takes care of the "feed" portion of the "weed & feed" flower-bed equation. As suggested above, we like the Hi-Yield Herbicide bags to be spread as a pre-emergent weed control for flowerbeds.   The package says that it can be used for vegetables, however, we are of the opinion that we wouldn't want to eat either so we're suggesting pulling your flowerbed weeds manually (no chemical) and using Tru Organic Tomato & Vegetable Food or Espoma fertilizer.
