Ocimum tenuiflorum considered an annual herb in our zone 7 (hardy zones 9-11), Ocimum tenuiflorum plant is a member of the mint family with purple stems and leaves that mature into a light burgundy. Although in the mint family, it's cousin is sweet basil. It has a peppery taste and is usually drunk as Tulsi tea. Traditional usage (Ayurveda): stress, anxiety, heart disease, arthritis, diabetes, and dementia.  Drinking tulsi tea in the morning is a fantastic way to get started.  If you want to be an herbalist and are afraid you might tell somebody to take the wrong thing, then tell them to drink tulsi tea and you will be right every time. Holy basil is an import and sacred plant in India and supports immune health. The leaves smell of peppermint, lemon and a touch of licorice. Krishna is one of three types of holy basil.

According to the literature that we have found, Holy Basil is an effective, natural treatment for eradicating ringworm in dogs. Keep in mind though that it's reported that be dangerous to ingest during pregnancy. it can even lead to a miscarriage. The herb may cause uterine contractions that may be dangerous. Deer resistant.

For mail orders: Plants may go through shock during shipping. Upon arrival, take the plant out and water it thoroughly. If you are not satisfied with your purchase, please notify us via email at sales@amgardens.com and include a photo(s) within 24 hours of plant arrival.

For in store purchases: If you are not satisfied with your purchase, please call us at 423-870-5000 or return the plant in its original pot/condition within 3 days. Trees and shrubs have a 1 year warranty (exceptions may apply), but we highly encourage you to give us a call or email if you notice issues with your plant. We'd love to help you figure out what's wrong and save your plant! 

Orders are shipped on Wednesdays and Thursdays; if your order is placed on a Wednesday, it may not ship until the following Wednesday. During peak season there may be delays in shipping. If it is too hot or cold, we suggest ordering during milder months to ensure plants arrive in best condition.
