DESCRIPTION

Indian Pink is a quietly spectacular NATIVE plant, growing in naturally open wood edges and along streams. This perennial is easy to grow and is rated as a “Top 10 Hummingbird Plant.” Foliage is glossy green all season. Flowers in late spring to summer with dazzling displays of upright bright crimson tubular flowers that have yellow throats that look like cream-colored stars as they open.

Care

Easy to grow in fertile, well-drained soil, partial shade. Naturally occuring at edges of woods and streambanks. Light shade to half sun exposure.

Growth Habit

Height 18-30" and spread 2' at maturity. Deciduous. Also known as Spigelia marilandica, indian pink likes warm, humid climates and is best suited for zones 6-9.

Toxicity

Toxic to Dogs, Toxic to Cats, Toxic to Horses. Deer and rabbit resistant.

Orders are shipped on Wednesdays and Thursdays; if your order is placed on a Wednesday, it may not ship until the following Wednesday. During peak season there may be delays in shipping. If it is too hot or cold, we suggest ordering during milder months to ensure plants arrive in best condition.
