Joseph's Coat Climbing Rose Bush

Joseph's Coat Climbing Rose Bush

$54.99

The color alone makes this a “showstopping” rose. Red and yellow, three inch double flowers are borne on the glossy foliage of this pillar rose. It repeats well in the fall and has a wonderful fragrance. This hybrid cross was introduced in 1964 and is known for its vibrant, multi-colored blooms that resemble the biblical story of Joseph's colorful coat.

Care

Best grown in full sun, in rich, fertile in moist, well-drained soils. Very disease resistant. This continual bloomer should be trimmed during the first 2-3 seasons only to remove dead or damaged canes. After that, it can be cut back by 1/3rd each year to prevent legginess. Best grown in zones 4-8.

Growth Habit

This climber will grow 8-12 feet tall and 3-4 feet wide and prefers moist well-drained loamy soils but will tolerate poorer soils in full sun. The multi-colored fragrant flowers begin in spring and will rebloom in flushes throughout the season. Deadheading helps speed up the process.

Toxicity

Not deer resistant. Not considered toxic to pets.
