Lemon Ball Sedum

$6.99

An intense yellow that thrives in full sun, the Lemon Ball Sedum (Sedum mexicanum 'Lemon Ball') is a nice, bright ground cover. Like most sedum, the sunny yellow color performs so well in the heat (full sun).  It is a stonecrop sedum (often growing between rocks and stones) with star-like flowers of Yellow on yellow just punching up the hot colors in your yard. These are fantastic annual accents throughout cooler growing zones, but Lemon Ball is a hardy perennial throughout USDA 7-11 and is considered a semi-evergreen.

Care

Stonecup thrives in well-draining soil and prefers a location with full sun to part shade. The plant is drought-tolerant and doesn't require frequent watering; however, it's essential to water it deeply but infrequently when the soil is dry to the touch. Avoid over watering, as excessive moisture can lead to root rot. This sedum variety is relatively low-maintenance and rarely needs fertilization. It is suitable for rock gardens, borders, or as a ground cover.

Growth Habit

Lemon Ball is a perennial succulent that is commonly grown as a ground cover due to its spreading growth habit. It typically reaches a height of 3 to 6 inches with a spread of 12 to 24 inches.

Toxicity

Not toxic to humans, cats, or dogs.
