block.Crimson Fire Loropetalum brings year-round drama to the landscape with its rich, purplish ruby-red evergreen foliage. In early spring, it comes alive with neon pink, fringe-like blooms that dance above its mounded form, creating a vivid contrast against the dark leaves. This low-growing shrub is perfect for foundation plantings, borders, and containers, offering consistent color and texture throughout all seasons. Its bold presence and easy-care nature make it a standout choice for modern and traditional gardens alike. The bright pink flowers bloom in early spring and stand out brilliantly against the deep burgundy foliage, which holds its vibrant color even in the heat of summer.
Crimson Fire grows best in full sun to partial shade, needing at least four to six hours of sunlight per day for optimal foliage color and flower production. It prefers slightly acidic to neutral soils that are well-draining and rich in organic matter. While regular watering is important during the first year to help roots establish, once settled, it shows good drought tolerance. A layer of mulch around the base will help retain soil moisture and keep roots cool during hot spells. Minimal pruning is needed but can be done after blooming to shape the plant or control its size.
Crimson Fire has a naturally compact, rounded shape, growing to about 3 to 4 feet in height and spreading 4 to 5 feet wide at maturity. Its vibrant pink blooms appear in early spring, offering an eye-catching display against the year-round ruby-red foliage.
This loropetalum variety is generally considered non-toxic to both humans and pets, though it's always wise to discourage animals from chewing on landscape plants. Crimson Fire is also deer-resistant, making it a smart pick for gardens where browsing can be a problem
