Luna Pink Swirl Hardy Hibiscus (Rosemallow)

Luna Pink Swirl Hibiscus Hibiscus 'moscheutos' brings pure you smiles when you look at your garden with enormous 6 to 8 inch blooms produced in abundance from mid-summer to early autumn. Each blossom features a swirl of pink and white petals around a dark cherry-red center. Enjoy a flurry of hummingbirds and butterflies darting among the blooms. These  native plants bring massive, tropical-looking flowers.

Hardy in zones 5-9, hardy hibiscus do best in full sun. Best in moist, rich, soil with good drainage. Hardy Hibiscus are best pruned after they've lost their blooms and leaves in the winter. Cut them all the way down since they will not get new growth on the old wood. In our zone, they sometimes appear to be dead the following spring since they don't begin to grow until later in the spring - we tell our customers just to be patient!

The distinctive trumpet-shaped blooms open to a width of 6" to 8". The 3 foot tall by 2 foot wide plants are beautiful single specimen plants, but are also bushy, making very effective borders and hedges. Mature height and width are 24-36". Bloom time is mid summer to fall.

If a dog ingests a significant amount of this hibiscus' flower, they can experience nausea, diarrhea, and vomiting. Deer & rabbit resistant.
