Commonly called Rose or Swamp Milkweed, this plant has an amazing vanilla fragrant that hosts several monarch or swallowtail butterflies. Like all members of the Aclepias genus, this milkweed is often used by monarch butterflies as a host plant. So, create a lively butterfly garden with this lovely milkweed. This plant is fast growing, carefree and versatile and ideal for borders, decorative containers, water features and cutting gardens. The fragrant blooms attract other pollinators, such as bees and hummingbirds, as well. If benefit to monarch butterflies is what you're hoping to do, it is important to use several milkweed species to ensure foliage is available for egg laying from late April into October. This plant is native to the central US.

This deer resistant plant grows best in moist soils and blooms in mid-summer. Best grown in zones 3-10 (as a perennial) in full sun to medium shade . Reaches a mature size of 36-48 inches high and 24-30 inches wide.

Trees and shrubs have a 1 year warranty (exceptions may apply), but we highly encourage you to give us a call or email if you notice issues with your plant. We'd love to help you figure out what's wrong and save your plant! 

Orders are shipped on Wednesdays and Thursdays; if your order is placed on a Wednesday, it may not ship until the following Wednesday. During peak season there may be delays in shipping. If it is too hot or cold, we suggest ordering during milder months to ensure plants arrive in best condition.
