Description

Caroline is a vigorous ever bearing fruit with healthful nutrients and antioxidants - thornless. This heavy-yielding, red raspberry vine will produce loads of delicious fruit from late August until fall, then on the same canes in the late spring/early summer. Self-pollinating. Carolina Raspberry will produce fruit in both late June and August from the second year after planting. They named it Immaculate to highlight the quality of the berry which they claim is beyond reproach and it late ripening season.  This berry meets the need of growers wanting a late season variety. The overall width and height of raspberries are 4-8 feet.

Care

Full sun aspect or shade only early and late in the day. An area where the canes can multiply and spread without bothering other plants. Raspberry canes are very drought tolerant after getting established. As the plant grows, control suckers (cut back): either mow all canes to the ground in late fall/winter for a large fall crop, or prune only fruited (second-year) canes after spring harvest to get both summer and fall crops, leaving new (first-year) canes for fall fruit.

Toxicity

Considered non-toxic, however, the plant's leaves and stems can cause digestive upset if consumed in large quantities due to their high fiber content.

Deer Resistant

Considered deer resistant.
