Description

Angel wing begonias, a type of cane begonia, are known for their striking, speckled leaves and vibrant flowers. Originally from the tropical regions of Brazil, these plants are easy to grow indoors all year round as long as their basic needs are met.

Care

Angel wing begonia plants like bright, indirect light year-round. If you don't care if your plant to flowers, less light will allow it to grow without producing blooms. They like to be kept consistently moist, and you can tell when they're lacking in water if the edge of their leaves begins to brown. Once the soil has dried about an inch from the surface, saturate the plant thoroughly and allow it to drain. They thrive in a temperature range of 65-75°F and humidity.

Growth Habit

Pruning is the best way to keep angel wing begonias looking compact, rounded, and bushy. Once the plant reaches 6 inches, pinch off the top-growing shoot. After one entire season of growth, prune the plant down to 6 inches twice annually: once in winter and again in late spring.
