Violet Stardust Clematis

$24.99

Violet Stardust is covered with a profusion of small 1½", blue violet, four to five-petaled, star-shaped nodding flowers. The centers of the flowers have creamy white anthers that contrast beautifully with the petals. Although this is a non-vining Clematis, the plant will benefit from support, either from staking or from neighboring plants. If allowed to ramble without staking, it will spread to 38-40" wide.

Care

Best grown in full sun to part shade. Water when 25% dry and plant in rich soil with good drainage. Again, the key is well-drained soil, as clematis as a rule do not like waterlogged or wet soils. Prune hard in March and as often as you like to encourage reblooming. Grows best in zones 3-7.

Growth Habit

Starting in early May and continuing through September, this free-flowering Clematis  is covered with small, violet blooms...a hummingbird treat. At maturity, Violet Stardust reaches 38-40" both tall and wide. Deciduous.

Toxicity

The clematis plant is a member of the Ranunculaceae family and is known to cause toxicity of a moderate nature when ingested by animals. Deer & rabbit resistant.
