White Calla Lily

White Calla Lily

$14.99

White Calla Lily adds a sculptural beauty to both garden beds and floral arrangements. With its tall, arrow-shaped, glossy green leaves and striking pure white funnel-shaped blooms, this plant brings a sense of grace wherever it's planted. The flowers, which are actually modified leaves known as spathes, wrap around a central golden-yellow spadix and stand atop sturdy stems that rise above the foliage. Blooming from late spring into summer, this classic lily offers a clean, sophisticated look in borders, around water features, or in containers on patios and terraces.

Care

White Calla Lily thrives in moist, well-drained, nutrient rich soil and prefers full sun in cooler climates or part shade in hotter regions. It is particularly well-suited to pond margins or consistently moist garden areas but also performs beautifully in containers with regular watering. In cooler climates, rhizomes can be lifted and stored indoors over winter, while in milder zones, it behaves as a hardy perennial. Its best to keep this plant heavily mulched in our zone.  Keep the soil evenly moist throughout the growing season, especially when grown in sun, and provide mulch to conserve moisture and keep roots cool.

Growth Habit

This plant grows in a clump-forming habit, typically reaching between 2 to 3 feet in height and spreading gently over time. Its bold white flowers stand tall above the lush green foliage, creating striking vertical accents in mixed borders or as focal points in decorative containers.

Toxicity

White Calla Lily is toxic if ingested, and care should be taken when planting around pets or children. Despite this, it is rarely bothered by deer or rabbits.
