Zebra Onyx Hydrangea

$39.99

This is one of those hydrangeas that we purchased really not knowing much about it's growth habits. Then she bloomed....she is beautiful! She does look like a zebra actually with her white, white blooms against the blackest stems and dark foliage. Perfect for adding a burst of color to a partially shaded bed and will also make a fine, informal, flowering hedge. Being a macrophylla, she would be best planted in morning or dappled sun along side gardenias and other shade plants. Native to Japan.

Growing Habit:

Quickly reaches 4 ft. tall, 3 ft. wide. Filtered Sun. Deciduous. Best grown in zones 5-9.

Care:

Bloom buds form on old wood, bloom in summer, last into fall, and are great for drying. Partial or dappled shade, moist soil.

Toxicity:

Hydrangeas contain substances that can be toxic to dogs. Sadly to say, hydrangeas are not normally deer resistant.
